MIT Architecture: How to Edit your Faculty Bio
(last modified: June 11, 2008 by TN)
This page is only for an MIT Architecture Faculty member who wants to
revise his or her bio page on the Department website.
There are two ways to make a revision.
- Do it yourself through the Content Management System (read below), OR
- Send a request to the webmaster, Darren Bennett.
Darren can be reached at darrenb@mit.edu, or xx3-3613.
If you would like to do it yourself, simply follow below.
No programming skill (such as HTML coding) is required.
- You need MIT Personal Certificate on your computer.
This allows you to authenticate yourself.
If your machine does not have this certificate yet, see
this page for
instruction.
- If you are using a Mac,
try using FireFox instead of Safari.
(We found some necessary editing features will be
disabled for some versions of Safari due to incompatibility.)
If you are using a PC, you can use Internet Explorer or FireFox.
and go to the Content Management System console.
(If your machine does not have the MIT Personal Certificate mentioned above, this console page will not open.)
- Locate the Edit button and the Save button in the console page as you see
in the illustration at the bottom of this page.
- Select your name from the list and click the Edit button.
- If you are using Internet Explorer and try to copy or paste text in one of the text fields,
you may get the message like the one below. You can just click Allow Acess and proceed.
- Make changes you want and click the Save button at the bottom of the console page.
(You may need to scroll the page all the way down to find this button.)
- Go to your bio page on the
Architecture Department faculty section
and review your page.
You need to press Reload/Refresh button on your browser to see the revision that you
have just made in the console.
