The workshop for this semester will take place in Leogane, Haiti, just south of Port au Prince in a low income neighborhood.
The design is for a school (12 classrooms), community center, health facilities, dormitory, cafeteria and related facilities on a site already purchase near a low income housing area.
Work for the semester includes assisting in the design process, preparing drawings and models to present to the client and community. We will be aided by Jules Walter and Gerthy Lahens from Friends of Petite Anse Inc, and Mayor Santos Alexis who has donated the land of 1.29 hectarres and other NGO groups of Haiti.
In early December we will hope to travel for a long weekend to present the design.
First meeting to determine meeting time, will be on Wednesday Sept 3 at 2PM in 9-213. If you can not make this meeting please email me with times that you could meet for 1 hour twice a week.
